What is plastering?
Plaster is the building material used for protection, durability, and decoration of walls and ceilings. Plastering is the art of applying it in such a way that you can’t see it once the paint is on.
Without putting plaster on before paint, not only would the interiors look terrible, but the house wouldn’t be as well insulated, and the structural integrity could be jeopardized.
The basic steps to plastering are:
Suitable frame check -> Lining with the correct board for the area (wet, fire, standard, sound) -> Application of first base coat with tape -> Another layer of base coat -> Application of topping compound -> Installation of cornices -> Sanding finish
